Whole-person care for your body, mind, and soul

Hi! I’m Dr. Sacha Drury, a naturopathic doctor and registered therapeutic counsellor in Maple Ridge, BC.

My path into this work has been shaped by both lived experience and professional training. I believe healing is rarely just physical, which is why my approach is grounded, intuitive, and rooted in deep respect for the whole person.

Personal Story

From the time I was little, I felt a pull inside me that I didn’t have words for yet — I knew I was meant to help others, I just didn’t know how that would unfold. But like many people drawn to healing work, my path into this work came from walking through my own darkness.

As a young girl, I experienced years of bullying that left deep imprints: humiliation, fear, loneliness, and a persistent sense that something was wrong with me. I froze rather than fought back, and for a long time, I mistook that freeze for weakness. I carried shame and learned to hide my pain so well that even the people closest to me didn’t know how much I was hurting.

It took me well into adulthood — and especially my counsellor training — to unravel those layers. I learned that my silence as a child wasn’t a flaw; it was sensitivity. Slowly, I began forgiving myself, replacing self-blame with compassion, and reclaiming the parts of me I abandoned to survive.

Then came another chapter of profound transformation: after the birth of our daughter, I went through five pregnancy losses. Grief took me into places so dark I didn’t know if I would ever emerge. There were days it felt like being tossed around under a giant surf wave — disoriented, breathless, unsure which way was up. But over time, I learned how to keep a piece of myself above water. I learned to allow others in and how to ask for help. And eventually, I came to a place of deep peace and gratitude for the family I have — my husband Brett, our daughter Aspyn, and our golden retriever Takaya.

“Walking through grief gave me something I could never have gained through training alone: the capacity to sit with others in their darkest moments and hold them with steadiness, presence, and loving acceptance.”

I strive to bring a calm, steady presence to my work. My intention is always to help people feel deeply seen, deeply safe, and deeply human.

My approach to healing is both grounded and intuitive. I am curious and nonjudgemental, I ask open questions, and I help people reunite with their heart and inner wisdom. I believe the body is always communicating with us, and part of my role is to translate what symptoms, patterns, and emotions might be trying to say. I integrate the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual realms because I’ve learned — in my own journey and through years of practice — that true healing happens when all of these aspects of ourselves are tended to.

Today, my life is filled with love, growth, nature, physical movement, camping, gardening, spiritual connection, and the personal fulfillment of supporting others as they move toward a healthier, more aligned version of themselves. Nothing lights me up more than witnessing someone have an “aha” moment, break a pattern that once felt impossible, or take a brave step toward the life their soul has been calling them into.

If you feel called toward deeper healing and this approach resonates with you, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.

Formal Training

My formal training began at the University of British Columbia, where I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. This early foundation shaped my interest in human behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and the many ways our inner world can influence our health.

I went on to complete my four-year naturopathic medical training at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, BC, now part of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine as CCNM – Boucher Campus. I became a naturopathic doctor in 2010 and am licensed through the College of Complementary Health Professionals of British Columbia. I am also a member in good standing with British Columbia Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. My naturopathic training included biomedical sciences, clinical diagnosis, nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine, lifestyle counselling, and other naturopathic therapeutic approaches.

After several years in practice, I returned to formal study to deepen my work in emotional and psychological healing. In 2022, I completed my Diploma in Transpersonal Therapeutic Counselling through Clearmind International Institute. I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and a member in good standing with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada.

My naturopathic and counselling services are offered separately, allowing each area of care to remain clear, ethical, and professionally grounded.

A Different Approach to Healing

Healing is rarely about one symptom, one lab value, or one life event. My work looks at the whole person – the physical body, emotional patterns, limiting beliefs, subconscious drives that keep habits and patterns locked in place, and the ways we move through the world that may no longer be serving us. It also invites a deeper question: are we living in alignment with who we truly are and what we are here to do?

  • Digestive concerns
  • Weight management
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Mood, stress, and emotional regulation
  • Trauma-informed nervous system support
  • Disordered relationships with food, habits, and substances
  • Meeting you where you are
  • Clear education and collaborative treatment plans
  • Support for meaningful behaviour change
  • Connection to inner wisdom and guidance
  • Respect for the body’s messages
  • Hope-filled, empowering support
